If you need a motto, I would offer you the following: “Grant me the strength to change the things I can, the courage to face those I can’t, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
The Prayer of Saint Francis
It’s never too late to change. I believe that as a person you are more than your past; more than your level of distress.
My name is Patricia Ann Holden. I have been conducting individual, couples, and family therapy for 17 years. I began as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2006 and worked in a variety of settings in the mental health system. Prior to private practice I last worked for 10 years on a psychiatric crisis team in the emergency room of a major Los Angeles county hospital. This experience, while quite challenging, was perhaps one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences for me in the field of mental health in terms of developing first-hand on-the-job skills, practice, and education, in collaboration with psychiatrists.

I possess a doctorate degree in clinical psychology which I received from Cal Southern University in California. I specialize in adult mental health, including the over-65 population. While the major approaches I incorporate in my practice include Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Brief Therapy, and Insight-Oriented therapy, I understand that a strengths-based focus is the basis for healing. Therefore I am not married to one particular theory in my work. With an emphasis on empathy, respect, genuineness, warmth, kindness, capacity to confront, and personal integrity, my ultimate goal is to offer you what you need.
